Day Break

It was a beautiful day in Little Tokyo; the world look as if it were new. The sun was shining, birds were singing, and the smell of day-old pizza was in the air. Speedy had it made.

He jumped out of bed, threw on his work clothes, and headed up to the kitchen. He noticed that it was still a little dark outside, an orange glow just barely peeking over the horizon, and that neither Guido, Francine, nor Polly were awake yet.

Speedy decided that he would get a head start on the work before the first customers arrived. He knew by heart which pizzas would sell first, so there'd be no risk of throwing away waste. But before he could make pizza, he would need to prepare the dough.

Upon entering the cooler, he realized that they were out of almost all of their ingredients. The most recent supply delivery must have been late! There was going to be a lot of trouble starting soon, and the day was only just beginning.
